FBI pays tribute to Tunisian security force killed in terror attack near US embassy

The Federal Bureau of Investigation, FBI, has paid homage to a Tunisian security force who thwarted in early March terror attack on security checkpoint, in capital Tunis, near the US embassy.
In a letter published on website of the US embassy in Tunis, on Monday, the FBI expressed its heartfelt condolences to the family of Lieutenant Taoufik Missaoui over the law enforcement office’s courage and sacrifice during the March 6 attack at Lac 2, Webdo Tunis reports.
Missaoui was killed after two Tunisian suicide bombers on a motorbike detonated their suicide belts. He halted them as they tried to target the security patrol.
The blast also wounded five other people including security forces and a woman civilian in her car.
No one claimed responsibility for the attack but the incident reminded the authorities of existent security threats.
The North African country has witnessed since 2015 series terror attacks mostly claimed by the Islamic state group (ISIS).
