Morocco’s Carrier Promotes Cultural Activities in Africa

Morocco’s airline Royal Air Maroc (RAM) has been designed an official carrier of the Ecrans Noirs (Black screens) festival in Cameroon.

The airline signed a deal with the organizers of the festival, the Ecrans Noirs Association, covering the upcoming two editions of the festival in 2019 and 2020.

Under the agreement, RAM will sponsor the event by ensuring the airlift of participants and guests of the festival, which has gained ground as a landmark cultural event in west Africa.

The event that takes place in Yaounde and Douala will be held this year under the theme “cinema and politics in Africa,” featuring 70 films.

RAM has also sponsored other African festivals in Ouagadougou, Dakar and Bamako.

RAM announced earlier this year that it wants to increase its fleet two-fold from 50 planes currently to 120 by 2020 to boost its share of the African air transport market.

In 2017, RAM, which has its main hub in Casablanca, won for the fourth year in a row Africa’s best regional airlines award delivered by Skytrax, the world’s leading airline and airport rating agency.
