Mohammed VI Champions Cup: Olympique de Safi, Raja of casablanca cruise to quarter finals

Morocco placed Saturday two domestic teams for the quarterfinals of the Mohammed VI Champions Cup after Raja Casablanca axed its city rival Wydad, and Olympique de Safi got rid of Tunisia’s legendary Esperance Sportive de Tunis.

The Raja Greens levelled the score 4-4, 20 minutes to the final whistle. Raja got through thanks to away goals, 5-5 in the aggregate. Both archrivals drew 1-1 during the first leg of the bout.

Wydad had a comfortable lead but Ben Malango in the 94th minutes trashed their dream to proceed to the quarterfinals, as he netted the ball to make it 4-4 for Raja.

Early in the day, OCS Olympique de Safi, in Rades, Tunisia, advanced for the quarterfinals after the penalty shootout, 2-4.

The score line after the time was 1-1 in the same way as the away match in Morocco, three weeks ago.
