Moroccan flag carrier is the exclusive airline sponsor of the 2nd Cup of Nations of the West African Football Union (WAFU) due in Senegal from Sept.29 to Oct.13

An agreement was sealed lately between Royal Air Maroc (RAM), SPN Africa, part of The Walt Disney Company, and WAFU. Under the sponsorship deal, the Moroccan national airline will transport several participating teams to the tournament from West Africa and Morocco.

Sixteen African teams will take part in the tournament, including host country Senegal, Benin, Burkina Faso, Cap-Verde, Côte d’Ivoire, Guinea, Guinea Bissau, Gambia, Ghana, Liberia, Mali, Mauritania, Niger, Nigeria Togo, and Morocco (guest) which replaced Sierra Leone, banned by FIFA.

Abdelhamid Addou, Chairman & CEO of Royal Air Maroc, said the Moroccan carrier is honored to serve Africans and be the official carrier of West African Football Union

Augustin Senghor, President of the WAFU Zone A, said: “we are pleased that RAM has joined an expanding list of service providers who are aligning with the WAFU Cup of Nations 2019”.

This agreement shows RAM’s support to African sporting events and enables the Moroccan carrier to have a good visibility on ESPN (Entertainment Sport Programming Network) channels and media outlets of participating countries.
