Marrakech Hosts 30th World LPG Forum

Morocco’s city of Marrakech, one of the world most population tourist destinations, will host the 30th World LPG Forum October 3-5. This global event will be bring together key international agencies, policy makers,

The forum’s program features keynote address by Moroccan minister of energy, mines and sustainable development Aziz Rebbah, presentations by experts and debates on liquefied petroleum gas industry, which will continue to grow due to increased focus in the world on air quality and clean energy access.

Participants will also discuss the new market opportunities for LPG both in developed and developing markets, the outlook for LPG and the HSE Management systems. The Health, Safety and Environment systems are not only the assurance for safe operations and sustainable future, they also constitute an integral part of the success of any good business and are vital in environments of change, development and growth when the risks are higher.

The experts will also look into the LPG business opportunities in Africa. Over the last five years, African LPG consumption has increased by nearly 30 pc, far outpacing growth in other major regions of the world. In the same period the Moroccan LPG market has seen a 20 pc increase in volume, making it the second largest consuming market on the continent.

Future LPG growth is correlated with, amongst other things, growing GDP (Gross Domestic Product) and a growing population. In both cases, Africa has a bright future with forecasts showing that African GDP will grow, perhaps by a factor of six by 2050, while African population will increase to be greater than China, North America and Europe combined by the same year.

African LPG consumption, while growing, is still relatively low at less than 5 pc of global consumption. Now is the moment to explore the potential of the African LPG industry and, together with public and private sector players, shape its future development for the benefit of all.

As a part of the Marrakech World LPG Forum, the 10th Global Technology Conference (GTC-2017) offers participants the opportunity to see some of the most important and innovative technology being discovered in the global LPG industry.

The primary aim of the GTC-2017 is to showcase the most innovative and original technological ideas from around the world and create new opportunities for the LPG industry.

It brings the LPG industry together, represented by all its stakeholders, from research entities to academic partners, LPG producing companies to equipment manufacturers, LPG distributors as well as the total supply distribution chain and beyond it.
