Morocco’s RAM Tops Podium of Africa’s best Airlines in 2017

Efforts by Morocco’s flag carrier RAM to offer better services to its customers were rewarded as the company won for the fourth year in a row Africa’s best regional airlines award delivered by Skytrax, the world’s leading airline and airport rating agency.

“The Award is illustrative of the efforts undertaken by the Moroccan flag carrier to improve its services to its clients,” RAM said in a statement after receiving the distinction at the ongoing 2017 International Air show in Paris.

Few days earlier, Skytrax awarded RAM the 4-Star Airline certification in recognition for the achievements of the airline over the last 2 years in terms of service standards.

“The recent introduction of the Boeing 787 on long haul routes is a key milestone for the airline in terms of its fleet modernization,” Skytrax said on its website.

RAM has its main hub in Casablanca Airport. The airline operates a fleet of 47 on mainly Boeing aircraft. The long haul fleet includes 2 recently delivered Boeing 787 Dreamliners, 4 Boeing 767-300ER and a single Boeing 747-400. Short and medium haul routes are mainly operated by RAM’s 36 Boeing 737 aircraft with 4 Embraer E190 also used.

At the African level, RAM was followed in the Skytrax ranking by Air Namibia, Tunisair, RwandAir and Senegal Airlines. Globally Qatar Airways came first for the fourth consecutive year ahead of Singapore Airlines, ANA All Nippon Airways, Emirates and Cathay Pacific.

Skytrax World Airline Rating is the leading international Airline Rating system classifying airlines by the quality of front-line product and staff service standards. World Airline Star Ratings are recognized as a global Benchmark of airline standards, developed through many years of professional experience and Skytrax unique knowledge of the world airline industry.
